International Cage Fighting Alliance announces ICFA 12: ROUND1 - Last Man Tournament Seires
COLUMBUS, OH – August 7th, 2009 – ICFA announces Last Man Standing, a mixed martial arts event to be held at Screamin Willie’s in Columbus Ohio at 8:00 p.m. on August 7th, 2009. The doors open at 7pm. The ICFA fight card will feature amateur athletes earning their rankings in the sport to eventually become the top professional names in MMA; Last Man Standing will also have 3 bouts featuring professional fighters based out of the Midwest. Screamin Willies’ is located on 1921 Channingway Center Dr Columbus, Oh 43232. Tickets start at $25 and can be purchased at Ticket Master.
The amateur card at ICFA: Last Man Standing features the return of the top feather weights (145 lbs) in the amateur rankings competing against each other in the Last Man Standing tournament for not only bragging rights but a $20,000 professional contract with the ICFA. Some of the featured fighters are feather weight title holders in various Midwest mma organizations such as Andrew Huffman, Kelli Gottardo, Zach Daugherty, Tray Taylor, and Derik Sowers. Featured fighters are also veteran OSU wrestler Murrel McKnight and Joey Simcoe. Simcoe is currently undefeated in the cage and has a wrestling resume that is impressive at any level;

Other amateurs that will be featured Friday August 7th are undefeated Justin Paul, Nelson Best and the MMA debut of Rob Longcoy. What makes Loncoy’s debut special is that he is predicted in being the next “Brock Lesnar” of the sport standing at 7 feet tall. Loncoy is predicted as Brock Lesnar was, to elevate his status to the top of the sport very quickly.
The professional main event at ICFA: Last Man Standing features Billy Vaughn. Vaughn trains at Buckeye MMA based out of Columbus Ohio. Vaughn has a professional record of 6 wins and 4 losses where he is known for his 1st round quick wins via heel hook submissions. Wrestling and mma training partners Joey Enright and Rodney carter will also fight in the pro division of ICFA 12. Rodney Carter is coming in the cage with a 3 fight winning streak. Carter cas a total mma record of 9 wins and 2 losses. Urban Combat Center will be representing the State of Indiana as their fighters will take on the Buckeye MMA fighters. Representing Indiana and Team Urban Combat Center are Aaron Llalonde, Pete Dominguez, and Josh Rines.
